About Kaspar

I am a software developer working on simulations for artificial intelligence research at DeepMind in London, England. In the past I worked on games and real-time graphics, first at Lionhead Studios in England and later IO Interactive and Unity Technologies in Denmark. It turns out that creating challenges for AI agents is quite similar to making games for humans.

I joined Unity in 2011 when it had less than a hundred employees, and came to lead their Graphics Team the same year as Aras Pranckevičius decided to take a break from managing people. My own contribution was mainly the multithreaded rendering, graphics API abstractions, stereo rendering for VR, and lots of other low-level graphics and performance work. I later moved to the company’s headquarters in San Francisco.
